    Aug 31st, 2022

Regarding the cultivation of 'Tindivanam - -5' sesame, pioneer farmer V. Palani from Govindavadi village of Kanchipuram district said: I have cultivated 'Tindivanam - -5' sesame in my own land. It can be harvested in 70 to 80 days. Before sowing this type of sesame, the land should be tilled eight times. After that, sesame should be sown. Only then grass and unwanted garlic will not grow. A good yield can be achieved by using less irrigation and fertilizer management. Other types of sesame yield 320 kg per acre. This Dindivanam can harvest 400 kg of sesame seeds in 5 varieties. He said that due to the additional yield, when sold in the market, one can earn substantial income.
