Successful cultivation of hot sesame is being done in Birsa Agricultural University (BAU). Sohan Ram, BAU's oil crop specialist, said that if irrigation facilities are available in the fields, the cultivation of hot sesame will prove to be very beneficial for the farmers at a low cost. Presently, the technology of hot sesame cultivation has been displayed in the Technical Park of BAU. At present the condition of the crop is very good. In the country, the cultivation of hot sesame is done on a large scale in the states of West Bengal, Telangana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Whereas, hot sesame is not cultivated in Jharkhand. It is cultivated in the state during Kharif season, due to which farmers get less yield and less profit.
