    In Thanjavur district, sesame is being harvested and dried in several areas after samba and sorghum cultivation. Sesame does not yield on all types of soils. Sesame can be cultivated in large areas in Tamil Nadu. Sesame is widely used in bakery shops. One kg of seed per acre is sufficient if sesame seeds are mixed with sand and sprinkled evenly. It is native to India and Africa. There are two varieties of sesame, black sesame and white sesame. The month of February is suitable for cultivation as a fodder crop. Suitable for sandy loam, loamy and clay soils. In many parts of Thanjavur district, farmers were involved in sesame spraying as soon as the samba and straw harvests were completed. The sesame is currently being harvested and dried in the sun; It is currently raining in many parts of Thanjavur district for several days due to global warming. Thus the farmers who harvested sesame are in trouble. Sesame cultivation in Washermenpet area near Thanjavur has been completed and is currently being harvested. It was at this point that the sesame plants dried up by the current rains were soaked again in the rain. Farmers are thus concerned.
