The Modi government is committed to the prosperity of the farmers. The agricultural schemes run by the central government provide benefits ranging from loans to subsidies, incentives, crop insurance for their personal needs. Modi government is changing the direction and condition of the farmers of the country through many schemes and programs. In the last years, farmers were benefited by increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of many crops, whereas farmers benefited on a large scale by purchasing wheat and paddy at MSP. The minimum support price of many crops has been increased for the prosperity of farmers. The minimum support price of sesame increased to Rs 7830 in the year 2022-23, which was Rs 4600 in the year 2014-15. In this way it has been increased by 70 percent. Modi government purchased 830 lakh metric tons of paddy on MSP, farmers got Rs 1,71,000 crore. 830 lakh metric tons (LMT) of paddy has been purchased in the country in the Kharif season 2022-23 till June 19, 2023. The farmers of the country are getting the maximum benefit of this purchase. The Modi government has recently increased the MSP on various crops. According to government data, till June 19 this year, more than Rs 1,71,000 crore has been paid from MSP and more than 1.22 crore farmers have benefited from it. Farmers are directly getting the benefit of paddy purchase because the government transfers the money for their produce to their account online. It is noteworthy that the MSP payment for combined procurement of wheat and paddy has been made at Rs 2,26,829 crore as against the total payment for last year of Rs 2,05,896 crore. Before monsoon, Modi government increased MSP of Kharif crops According to the decision taken by the Modi government in the cabinet meeting, the MSP of tur dal has been increased by Rs 400 per quintal, while the MSP of paddy, maize and groundnut has also been increased. This will benefit farmers on a large scale in the country and they will be able to get good prices for the new crop. In view of the increasing cost of farming, the government has taken this decision in the interest of farmers. Along with this, after the government's assurance of purchasing pulses at MSP, farmers will be able to sow arhar, urad and moong dal in more areas in the Kharif Rabi season.
