A quintal of sesame was auctioned for Rs 11,630 at the Lalgudi Regulatory Sales Hall. In this situation, the farmers who had cultivated sesame and sorghum at the Lalgudi Regulated Market under the control of the Trichy Sales Committee had harvested sesame and sorghum crops from their arable lands and brought them for sale.In order to increase this sales opportunity the indirect auction was held in the regulated sales hall. In the indirect auction of sesame and black gram, 13 farmers from Mettupatti, Sembarai, Melawalai, Siruthaiyur, Nannimangalam, Sathamangalam, Anbil, Keelaperungavur and Thirumangalam villages in the Lalgudi area brought their sesame products to the Lalgudi Regulated Market. Six sesame traders participated in the sesame indirect auction and bid for a maximum of Rs 11,630 per quintal. The average bid was Rs 11,100.The indirect auction was held in the presence of Trichy Sales Committee Secretary Gandhi Kamaraj, Lalgudi Regulatory Sales Committee Supervisor Vivek, Sangeetha and Agriculture Sales and Commerce Assistant Agriculture Officer Sivashakthi.
