The rain has created a crisis for the Annadata, who is facing the shortage of fertilizers and seeds. From 11 o'clock on Thursday night, intermittent rain for 12 hours has destroyed one thousand hectares of sesame crop across the district. At the same time, 20 thousand hectares of millet crop has also been destroyed. Apart from this, sowing of mustard for Rabi crop has also lagged behind by a week. Rainfall across the district has added to the troubles of the farmers. The area under millet as a Kharif crop in the district was about 70 thousand hectares. Sesame crop was done in an area of six thousand hectares. By the first week of October, farmers have taken millet crop of about 50 thousand hectares. Similarly, farmers have also harvested about five thousand hectares of sesame crop from the fields and taken them home from the barn. In such a situation, millet in 20 thousand hectare area and till now standing sesame crop in one thousand hectare area has been ruined by the continuous rains which started last night. Backward sowing in 2.23 lakh hectare area According to the farmers of the area, the area under mustard crop in the district is 2.5 lakh hectares. While the area under wheat crop is 1.25 lakh hectare. Unseasonal rains have destroyed the sowing of two thousand hectares of land. In such a situation, apart from the fertilizers and seeds of the concerned farmers, the amount spent on plowing, sowing has also gone waste. On the other hand, the sowing of mustard in two lakh 23 thousand hectares has lagged behind by a week. Mustard sowing has lagged behind due to unseasonal rains. In such a situation, if sowing is done late, then the yield will be reduced. However, farmers will increase the area of wheat crop by leaving mustard.
