According to the Myawaddy Daily published on March 13, Myanmar has exported more than 2 million tons of various beans, corn and sesame seeds to foreign countries in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (April 2025 to January 2026). "In the first 10 months of this fiscal year, we have exported more than 2.4 million tons of various beans, corn and sesame to foreign countries. We will continue to export in the remaining fiscal year and strive to export more than 3.2 million tons of these products in the whole fiscal year," said an official from the Myanmar Beans, Corn and Sesame Chamber of Commerce. More than 2.4 million tons have been exported so far, and another 750,000 tons are needed to meet the planned export requirements. In the current fiscal year, exports of these agricultural products, including beans, corn and sesame, have already generated $2 billion in revenue. The chamber of commerce officials estimated that exports of these beans, corn, and sesame seeds would generate an additional $500 million in revenue over the remainder of the current fiscal year. Note: Myanmar is an agricultural country, and agricultural exports play a significant role. While rice is the main agricultural export, various beans rank first, followed by corn, sesame, and other products. It is hoped that these agricultural exports will bring greater benefits to farmers.
